About Us

Since 1976, Northwest Youth Services has been the doorway to safety and the pathway to progress for thousands of young lives. Much has changed in our communities during those years. What has not changed is our commitment to supporting the uniqueness of each youth served.

For runaway, homeless, “throw-away”, abused, neglected and other at-risk youth and young adults, we are their lifeline. NWYS’s mission is: to collaborate with at-risk, runaway and homeless youth to foster self-reliance.

Throughout the years, NWYS has specialized in helping youth who have been marginalized by their choices or simply because of who they are. We believe in the inherent dignity of each young person we serve.

My name is Matt Harnetiaux, VP of Business Development at http://www.tatango.com a website that allows youth organizations the ability to SMS message their entire organization at the same time. You can check out this link that explains the benefits of using SMS messaging.

We have seen a lot of success with other youth organizations incorporating SMS into their communications and I wanted to see if there is anyway for our company to work with your organization.

Is this something you can help me with? If so, please don’t hesitate to contact me by phone at 206-409-5296 or email me back, and I can give you 20% off your first month of service. Look forward to hearing from you.

    Best regards,

    Matt Harnetiaux

    Dear Northwest Youth Services,

G.B. Heron Jewelers has heard of your non-profit organization and the work that you do in Whatcom and Skagit Counties. We would like to propose a fundraising idea.

We are sending out a postcard mailer to approximately 3600 of our customers inviting them to our Holiday Open House on Thursday, November 29th. As our way of thanking them for their patronage throughout the years, we are offering them special discounts on jewelry purchases that evening. We are hoping to encourage them further by designating a local charity to whom we will donate 5% of all purchases. Your organization, given the many services you provide throughout the year, seems like a great choice for this fundraiser.

In addition to our postcard mailer, we will be sending out “Open House” emails to our customers. If you have a list of companies and contacts that you work with, you are welcome to forward my email to them as well. I am thinking we could use email and social media to spread the word thus making this a very successful fundraiser. Of course, we would love to have any literature or information that you could provide to inform our customers about your organization.

Please call me at your earliest convenience to discuss this idea. I have already spoken to Karen Richards about this idea and sent her the same email.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Sincerely,

    Karen Barniol
