Detour Street Outreach Services

The Detour Street Outreach Program provides supplies and support for youth on the street in Whatcom County. Staff provide assistance with basic need items. The goal of Street Outreach is to meet youth ‘where they’re at’ and build a trusting relationship, and to connect them with services when they’re ready.

We provide:

  • Connections with Outreach Staff who can provide snacks, showers, computer use, and connections to other services.
  • Street outreach daily in downtown Bellingham and beyond. Frequent routes include Railroad Avenue, Whatcom Transit Authority Bus Station, the Needle Exchange, and the First Baptist Church community meal.
  • Outreach services at schools, libraries, and events throughout the county.

For specific times and locations of our Outreach Staff, please call the Street Outreach Hotline at (360) 389-0246.
