“Hello.  This is my story about how Northwest Youth Services has changed my life and how they have helped me.

I am 19 years old and am raising my four year old daughter. We were homeless for 2 years before I found out about Northwest Youth Services. We were couch hopping from place to place. I could not find anyone to rent to me due to my income and my background checks. Then I heard about Northwest Youth Services. I went and signed up. It took about a month to get a call that a spot was available. I was put in HUSLY which is a 90 day program, till we find something better. My daughter and I am no longer couch hopping. We have been in this program for about a month and a half. Hannah has set us up with a case manager from Woman Care Shelter. She is now helping my daughter and I to find our own permanent housing.
If I didn’t have this help from Northwest Youth Services we would still be homeless and would have never found out about all the opportunities they have for women with children. It means so much to me that they have helped me not only to not be homeless but how to be more responsible.
The programs they have for the youth is God’s gift for us because it is so hard out there on the streets when you don’t have anybody to help you out. The people from Northwest Youth Services stand by our side. It makes us feel like someone really cares for us.
I appreciate everything that the people at Northwest Youth Services have done for my daughter and I. They are helping me make a better life for my child. I don’t know what I would do without the help they have given to me. This is the best program I have ever heard of. I thank you so much NWYS for helping us. The HUSLY Program is a short-term Whatcom County Housing Program, for homeless single or parenting young people, 18-25 years old.  NWYS provides homeless youth with an apartment, case management, life skills classes and supportive services.  This program can provide food and bus passes for participants and focuses on finding stable housing.
