What is Healing Centered Engagement? An Experiential Community Journey into "Love Warriors," Imagination, and Welcome Home
This workshop will explore concepts from Dr. Shawn Ginwright's Healing Centered Engagement Certification Course, the idea of "Love Warriors" by Cornel West, and other resources that create pathways of connection. We will invite wisdom traditions, poetry, and artistry that explore shifting hierarchies and "ecosystems of harm" to ecosystems of care. Participants will leave with inspirations and practices to add to their transformational work in community.

Sara's Story
My 25 years of experience with human service agencies has been focused on working with staff, youth, and communities to create ecosystems of care grounded in equity, diversity, and inclusion. My work has included helping youth end intergenerational abuse cycles through wilderness counseling and at treatment centers, student success counseling at Job Corps, case management, program supervision, and training consultant work at Northwest Youth Services, and program management for Roots of Empathy.
I earned a Master’s of Education in Adult and Higher Education from Western Washington University, and a Certification in Healing-Centered Engagement with Dr. Shawn Ginwright. My work is to uplift community and integrate practices of continuous learning and interconnection.
