At Northwest Youth Services, we envision a future where all young people have a place to belong: to be safe, heard, and valued.
Last year alone, over 1,500 youth accessed support and stability from our teams in Whatcom and Skagit Counties.
Every single youth who walks through our door has a story. A story of trauma. A story of hardship. A story of hope. Most of all, a story of resiliency.
At Northwest Youth Services, we ensure that each and every story is HEARD. We help youth come to terms with where they have been, and set their sights on what is next. We help them see their potential and look forward with hope for what is to come.
This fall, we are sharing these stories with you - allowing you to hear firsthand what youth homelessness in our community sounds like.
Your donation in 2019 will help Northwest Youth Services prepare to address the needs of the youth we meet in 2020. Thank you for your help and dedication to local youth in need of our support.

EPISODE 5 - V'S STORY

This fall, we’re proud to be debuting the first season of our Heard Podcast - a five episode series providing firsthand accounts of youth homelessness in Whatcom and Skagit counties.
Each of the five episodes detail how a youth in our community became homeless and the journey that they are currently on in hopes of a better future. Each episode also highlights staff members of Northwest Youth Services, helping to shed a light on the services we provide and what our work with youth looks like day-to-day.
Special thanks to the youth who generously offered to share their stories.
Once the episodes were complete, we decided not to include their names with their story, as each of these young people are still tackling the trauma that led to, or was part of, their journey through homelessness.
We are also very grateful for our Development & Communications Intern, Colton Redtfeldt, a senior at Western Washington University, who produced this series.
