Celebrating Christmas at the PAD!

In the spirit of spreading holiday joy and creating lasting memories, our community came together to make this festive season truly special for the youth in our care. With a heartwarming collaboration between the youth, dedicated staff, and the unwavering support of Hopper, we embarked on a journey to make their holiday dreams come true.

Thanks to the generosity of the community, each youth had the opportunity to share their wishes by creating a Christmas list. The excitement of anticipation filled the air as gifts and stockings awaited them on Christmas day, bringing smiles and a sense of belonging.

But our celebrations didn't stop there. The youth were treated to a delightful outing, where they had the joyous task of choosing a real holiday tree to adorn and decorate. In the cozy warmth of our space, holiday cookies became a delightful creation, with the youth getting hands-on in the baking and decorating process.

Recognizing and respecting the diversity of holiday traditions, our staff ensured that a variety of practices were made available, fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone.

As Christmas Eve approached, a special tradition unfolded as staff and youth came together for a traditional Hispanic holiday dinner featuring homemade tamales. This shared meal became a symbol of unity, highlighting the importance of cultural traditions within our community.

On Christmas day, a feast awaited everyone, featuring a spread of delicious dishes that captured the essence of the season. The joy of sharing a meal, laughter, and the warmth of companionship filled the air.

Beyond the walls of our space, additional outings added to the festive spirit. Youth and staff embarked on trips to marvel at local lights and decorations, creating shared moments of wonder and appreciation for the holiday season.

In the end, it was not just about the presents or the decorations, but about creating an atmosphere of love, understanding, and shared joy. This holiday season, we were not only building memories but also fostering a sense of community that will resonate throughout the year.
