Cleaning (3 Hours)

Seeking volunteers to assist in cleaning up units that youth have recently moved out of. Volunteers will be provided all cleaning supplies and PPE as well as a checklist to follow.

 

Shifts will take place weekly Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:00 am-1:00 pm and volunteers are encouraged to bring whatever they will need to get them through the shift (snacks or lunch, water, etc.)

 

Volunteer coordinator will reach out and provide more information (location of units) upon application. 

Donation Processing: (Varying hours)

Volunteers needed to sort and inventory in-kind donations received by Skagit NWYS

 

This position takes place at our Skagit Drop-In center located at 427 N 4th St. Mount Vernon, WA. This location and volunteer opportunity are accessible for wheelchair and other mobility aid users

 

*This is a family friendly opportunity, kids are welcome to assist if they have a guardian present

Drop-in reset: (1 hour)

Seeking 1-3 volunteers for a weekly 1 hour shift (Mondays and/or Wednesdays 4:00pm-5:00pm) resetting our Skagit drop-in space after walk-in hours. Tasks include sweeping/vacuuming the space, wiping down surfaces, making sure that any laundry is out of the washer/dryer, tidying up the free store (food shelves, clothing racks, etc.), taking out trash, wiping down sinks, refilling hand soap, paper towels, and toilet paper if needed, doing any dishes in the walk-in space sink, and checking expiration dates on foods in our food pantry.

Landscaping (solo or group activity) (1-4 hours)

Seeking volunteers to complete some landscaping maintenance and garbage clean up on site once monthly at either our Skagit Walk in space or our Whatcom main office. Can supply minimal items, so volunteers who can bring their own tools and equipment are preferred. 

ATTN: There are often large friendly (child-socialized) dogs in the N. 4th space, if you have fears, allergies, concerns, etc. about large dogs, please specify that in your volunteer application so that we can accommodate your needs!
